- Gründung 2008 von David Vitale
- In Melbourne -> definitiv einen Besuch wert
- 2015 erhielt Starward eine finanzielle Unterstützung von Diageo
- In seinem Distilled Ventures Programm hatte der Konzern Starward ausgewählt
- Damit Investitionen in den Ausbau der Brennerei getätigt
- Als Resultat konnte die Brennerei 2016 in neue Gebäude im Port Melbourne umziehen
- Die Produktionskapazität wurde auf etwa 250.000 Liter jährlich erhöht

Tasting notes
👃🏼Geruch: Organgenzeste, karamellisierter Ingwer, Wintergewürze wie Zimt und Nelke, leichte Parfümnote
👄Geschmack: schönes Mundgefühl, Eichennoten, wieder die Orangennoten, Cookies oder Brownies mit Ingwer, saftige rote Weintrauben, Rosinen, Kräuter, leicht zimtig
🥅Abgang: lang, die Cookies / Brownies bleiben, Nüsse, Rosinen, Tanine, ganz zum Schluss eine leichte Bitternote, die wird etwas unangenehm
Fazit
Wenn ihr einen guten Preis seht, ist es nicht verkehrt das mal zu probieren, gerade, wenn ihr auf Ingwer steht. Für mich persönlich überlagert die Bitterste am Ende aber alles ein bisschen zu viel.

Tasting notes
👃🏼Scent: orange zest, caramelized ginger, winter spices like cinnamon and clove, light perfume note.
👄Taste: nice mouthfeel, oak notes, the orange notes again, cookies or brownies with ginger, juicy red grapes, raisins, herbs, slightly cinnamony
🥅Finish: long, the cookies / brownies linger, nuts, raisins, tannins, a slight bitter note at the very end, it becomes a bit unpleasant
Conclusion
If you see a good price, it is not wrong to try iz, especially if you like ginger. For me personally, however, the bitter note at the end overpowers everything a bit too much.
