Facts Distillery

- Erst 1987 gegründet von John Teeling
- war die Cooley Distillery viele Jahre die einzige unabhängige irische    Brennerei ihrer Zeit.
- 2011 bekam Jim Beam den Zuschlag und erwarb die Cooley Brennerei für - Vertraglich sicherte sich die Teeling Whiskey Company allerdings einen nicht unwesentlichen Fassbestand und füllt diesen Whiskey unter eigenem Label ab

- Tyrconnell bedeutet auf Gälisch 'Land der O Donnells'
- Der Name Tyrconnell wurde durch das erfolgreiche Rennpferd berühmt
-Als Außenseiter gewann es im Jahre 1876 den Viktoria Pokal (Übrigens Wettquote war 1:100 gegen das Fuchs Hengstfohlen)
- Irish Whiskey Awards 2019 Gold Medal und 2018 IWSC Silver medal
- Untypisch für irischen Whisky: doulbe distilled
- Seit 2017 wird der Single Malt mit stärkeren 43% vol abgefüllt.

Tasting notes

👃🏼Geruch: Fruchtig, Nüsse, Zitrusnote, Würze
👄Geschmack: Honig, Früchte, Orangen, Malz, auch wieder Zitrus, sehr weich
🥅Abgang: medium, fruchtig, Honig

Fazit

Ein irischer Whisky mit sehr gutem Preis Leistungs Verhältnis. Eine der wenigen irischen Standards, die ich wirklich immer zu Hause habe. Eben weil er sich gut trinken lässt und auch für Einsteiger wunderbar geeignet ist.

- The name Tyrconnell was made famous by the successful racehorse
- As an outsider, it won the Victoria Cup in 1876 (by the way, the odds were 1:100 against the chestnut colt)

Tasting notes

👃🏼Scent: Fruity, nuts, citrus note, spice

👄Taste: honey, fruits, oranges, malt, also again citrus, very soft

🥅Finish: medium, fruity, honey 

 Conclusion

An Irish whisky with a very good price-performance ratio. One of the few irihscen standards that I really always have at home. Precisely because it is easy to drink and is also wonderfully suitable for beginners.
