Facts Distillery

New Make

👃🏼Geruch: sehr fruchtig, Malz, leicht nussig

Facts Distillery

It all started with an excursion at the end of the nineties to various fruit distilleries in southern Germany.
Due to partly very weak brandies, however, there was the thesis: "We can do better!"
Thus the friendly families Wolfkühler and Mülheims decided to build up their own distillery.
With receipt of the closure distilling right in the year 2000, it started.
But when the first wooden barrels were stored, it became clear that the small double garage had soon reached its capacity limit.
Therefore, the historic sawmill was purchased and a second kiln was added. The renovation then took over two years, but in April 2016 the opening of the new place of activity could be celebrated.

Tasting notes

Single Malt CS

👃🏼Smell: vanilla and malt, dark chocolate, fresh fruit, pears and peach, give it some time

👄Taste: good attack, creamy, caramel with toffee, light oak notes, again the vanilla, ginger notes in combination with the dark chocolate and also our peach, as in the nose, light bergamot /fennel note, alcohol well integrated, tart notes

🥅Finish: medium, nut, espresso, oak notes and again the ginger in the background

💧 With water: spicier, more fennel, more tannins, more peppery spiciness

New Make

👃🏼Smell: very fruity, malt, slightly nutty

👄Taste: again, nicely fruity, mild and malty, light nutty note

🥅Finish: medium, malt and fruit

💧 With water: more malt, less fruit

Conclusion

The German distillery is definitely worth a look and does not need to hide.
